MISSION:
The primary mission of the Indiana Elite is to promote the
continued development of young players as it relates to
fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship and athletic
competition. This will be achieved through participation in
tournaments throughout the country and competing at the
highest level possible. Coaching each player in reaching
their maximum potential and contribution in the game of
basketball and in transforming those skills from the
basketball floor today, to become leaders in our communities
tomorrow.
GOALS:
To compete against the best competition on a national basis
To gain the maximum exposure to college recruiters
To continually strive for perfection on and off the court
Advisory Board:
Jan Conner ISU alumnae and
coaching great, she was inducted into the Indiana Basketball
Hall of Fame. She had a career record 434 wins and 71 losses
(Warren Central, Benton Central, Northeast Missouri State,
and Martinsville). Jan coached 2 state championship teams
and was honored 9 times as the coach of the year. Jan is a
true pioneer and legend of girl's basketball.
Jennifer Jacoby Rossville HS
('92), Purdue (1992-95), Portland Power, ABL (1996-98). Miss
Basketball 1992. Assistant Coach, Indiana University
(98-2000), Miami University (00-01), University of Illinois
(01-03), Head Coach Benton Central HS (03-05). Currently
Assistant AD Indianapolis Cathedral HS.
Ruth Riley North Miami HS
('97), Notre Dame University ('01). National Champion 2001,
Winner of Naismith Award and was named the AP Player of the
Year, two time AP All American, WNBA, Currently member of
the Detroit Shock, (2001-Current), Member of 2004 US Olympic
Team.
Chad Gilbert Girls' Varsity
Coach at Jeffersonville HS
Denise McClanahan Girls'
Varsity Coach at Southport HS for 22 years.
Garry Donna is the editor and
publisher of Hoosier Basketball Magazine for 36 years.
Coordinator of the annual Girls' Top 40 Workout, Donna has
become one of the most respected observers of Indiana high
school basketball. Garry's enthusiasm and devotion to
Indiana basketball has served as the conduit through which
many players have found an opportunity to play at the next
level.
