2010 National Championships 13u Kings Island, OH

The class of 2014 Indiana Elite South Bend Basketball Team put on a show on the National scene this time around.  Having come off a “fresh” State Championship in May of 2010 the Indiana Girls were ready to get after it at the AAU National Championships!  After blowing out the competition in pool play the Indiana Elite South Bend Girls were peaking at the right time.   The team earned a #1 Seed coming out of Pool Play.  Winning the first round bracket play game by (7) points the ladies advanced to the SWEET 16!  The adrenaline was pumping as Indiana Elite was preparing to get into the Elite 8!  Without missing a beat we accomplished just that!  Indiana Elite South Bend overcame a fierce final quarter by the home based Ohio team.  Indiana Elite came away with a thrilling 50-48 victory.  With sights of the Final Four at hand Indiana Elite had to go through the defending National Champions Georgia Pistols.  Indiana Elite took the Pistols best shot and fell (5) points short of a Final Four berth.  This was the closest game the Georgia Pistols had all tournament up to that point.  Indiana  Elite bounced back from that emotional defeat and finished 7th in the Country!  Great run Indiana Elite South Bend!

Indiana Elite 8th Grade Girls 2010 State Champs

Indiana Elite 8th grade girls went 3-0.  Beating Indiana Blizzard Jones 77-53 in the opening round.  Game two Indiana Elite beat Indiana Blizzard Henderson 61-51 to advance to the State Finals against Western.  In the championship game IE dominated from tip to buzzer as they won going away 60-38.  Caroline Buhr had 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals.  Caroline was 12 for 18 from the field and a match up night mare for the Western team.  Jaclyn Heath set the tempo early hitting 3 deep three's in a row forcing Western to extend its defense.  Taylor Parmley dominated the glass with 15 rebounds.  Ashley Campbell and Michelle Weaver held Western's guard and best player Whitney Jennings in check the entire game with full court pressure that would wear Kobe Bryant down!!!    A great TEAM effort by the Indiana Elite girls all weekend long.  The AAU National Championships are July 9-14 in Kings Island Ohio.  Indiana Elite will represent Indiana as the number one seed.

ELKHART -- Versatility and leadership are two qualities that Jada Buggs brought to the Memorial High School girls basketball team the past four seasons.

With Buggs' help, the Crimson Chargers went 85-18 and won four sectional crowns.

The University of Wisconsin thought enough of Buggs' ability to play all over the court that she verbally committed to the Badgers in the spring of her junior year and later signed with the Big Ten school.
